Trabzon is a city on the Black Sea coast of northeastern Turkey, where known history goes back 4000 years ago. Its population is around 350.000. Trabzon has a very rich flora, and about 440 endemic plants thrive in the region. The region is under the influence of the Black Sea climate: the winters are cool but humid, and summers are temperate.
